Shell powers Casey Stoner
For the first time in MotoGP, Shell technicians have been on site in the
Sachsenring paddock to test the Ducati riders’ race oil and fuel. As part of Shell
and Ducati Research & Development programme, on site analyses have been
carried out. Samples have been collected by Ducati and data have been
generated by Shell to confirm Shell V-Power race fuel performance and
efficiency. These analyses also helped to control Shell Advance race oil
properties ensuring reliability, helping Casey Stoner storming into Sachsenring.

The Shell track lab is a mobile facility in which samples of Shell V-Power race
fuel and Shell Advance race oil have been tested by Shell technicians during
the whole race week end. In the truck, placed behind the Ducati pit box,
analyses have been done after all the riding sessions. The Shell Advance race
oil analyses confirmed that the level of wear metals was in the expected range
known as per the Shell database and allowed the Shell technicians to give their
green light. On the V-Power race fuel side, additional tests have been made to
ensure that the fuel in the Desmosedici tank was exactly the same that was
certificated by FIM and left the Shell Global Solutions laboratories in Hamburg .
